Princess Panama Round-trip from Ft. Lauderdale
We are taking Princess' 10-day Panama Canal trip from FL in late Jan., 2012. Would like to know good excursions along the route, easy to moderate, especially your opinion on the excursion taking you through the rest of the locks and a good zipline trip. Stops are Aruba, Cartagena, Gatun Lake, Colon, Limon, Ocho Rios.

found hiring driver/guides from the port with another couple
cheapest best way to go if you negotiate well.

Bettyann, I just saw your thread and in case you haven't decided on excursions yet, here's what we did. We thoroughly enjoyed every excursion that we did.
Aruba: Sail and Snorkel (through Princess)
Cartegena: Private tour of La Popa Monestary, San Felipe Fortress and the Old City with J.J. Taborda (Cartegena was a highlight of the cruise for us.)
Gatun Lake: Ferry through the rest of the Canal. EXCELLENT!
Limon, Costa Rica--We stayed on board the ship
Ocho Rios: Private excursion to Dunn River Falls and White River Tubing with Peat Taylor.

Aruba - California Light house, natural bridge, rock formations and ended with a beach stop.
Cartagena - Historical city tour including the naval museum, the fortress etc.
Gatun Lake - Since this is a round trip, you don't get to see the Pacific side. Take the train/bus to the Pacific side - Miraflores locks (bring your own food or buy them on your own, food provided by the tour company is awful)
Colon - Not much to see there, take tour to old Panama City
Limon - We took the tour to San Jose, long bus ride
Ocho Rios - Shaw garden and the Dunn Rivers Fall.
