One Suite or 2 Rooms With Teens
We are first-time cruisers considering a trip next spring to S. Caribbean on RCCL Adventure. We cannot decide which would be better: one suite or 2 separate staterooms. We are a family of 4 (parents and 2 boys ages 14 and 17)The prices vary so much on-line and the descriptions of sizes are rather vague. We don't mind our kids and they say you are not in the room that much but is it too much togetherness? Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Hi Alex,

Although the Adventure (also Explorer and Voyager) has larger staterooms than the previously built ships they are still small for four to live comfortably. You will find not enough room for storage. The dresser drawers are extremely tiny.
If you book higher categories such as H and I you will have 180 sq. ft. or F at 211. You will have more room. See if there are family staterooms available (they book the fastest). They are 265 sq. ft. one bath. If you book the lowest balcony the size drops back to 170 sq. ft. which is again small. Measure out the footage in your living room and add two twin beds and a bathroom.

Hope this helps.

Paul

Hi, If you don't mind being on the inside, check if the cruise ship has adjoing double rooms. We have travelled a few times w/ family this way and it seems to work. The biggest perks are the second bathroom, and it's usually priced in the middle of a quad vs. a suite. Have a nice trip.

We got 1 suite last year on the Triumph with our 2 teens (14 & 17). There was plenty of storage and the bathroom was big. I considered 2 rooms also, but I like knowing where they are at night.Sleeping was alittle tight at night when we pulled out the sofa bed & they set up a cott, but it wasn't a problem. Also 2 people showered in the morning & 2 a night so the bathroom was not a problem.
