Costa Crusie line.. any Information?

Costa Crusie line.. any Information?
Has any one been on this Cruise line or have any thoughts on it...my travel agent mentioned this to me as a possibility. She said that it's Italian run, less expensive but very nice, it's just not highly advertised..thanks!!

We used Costa for a Baltic cruise. Never again. 75% Italian farm workers who never stand in line and just insist on being first. Announcements in English are never heard after Italian, German and French. The food is terrible, except pastas. And the midnight buffet is fun to watch the scramble !! Unless you speak Italian you can never get anywhere with reception or excursions. Carribean cruises with 50% English-speaking passengers is a little better, but not much. <BR>neviboy

They do not get offended or can care less. <BR> <BR>Naturally the announcements are in all languages. <BR> <BR>Costa is a five star cruise line and they really cater to the passengers. The crew is excellent and are very intelligent. They have to be fluent in all languages. <BR> <BR>If you are planning to cruise the Caribbean I sailed the Atlantica this past spring and truly it was one of my best cruise experiences. the food was excellent along with the service. Of all the cruises I have taken during the Easter holidays Costa really did up the ship like no other cruise line. <BR> <BR>I would also like to mention the Costa evenings are extraordinary. Maybe I shouldn't be replying to this since I've never sailed Costa but I know three different people who have sailed Costa and were terribly disappointed. One of them being a top Italian executive at my company, fluent in the language and everything. It's enough to discourage me from trying the line. <BR> <BR>/jc

Which is exactly why I said maybe I shouldn't be responding. I just thought I'd share what, to me, seems like far too many negative comments expressed by three totally different types of people: A top corporate executive, a 25 year-old woman, and a mother-and-daughter. You're right. I can't speak from experience but that's a whole lot of flags going up in my book and I think it's fair to make Laura aware of it.

My wife and I had a great cruise on the Costa Romantica last summer to the North Cape and fjords of Norway. The crew was great, the food great and this was the cleanest ship I had ever been on. (Been on Princes and NCL before). There were 50 english speaking passengers on the ship, all announcements were in 5 languages with english being last. All crew spoke english very well. The crusie director was amazing, she spoke 5 different languages fluently and chenged between them as needed to introduce people or describe events. An english speaking ambassador (crewmember) is assigned to each language and they can be reached anytime if there is a problem or you have a question. She accompanied us on all tours and was available on the ship for any questions or other issures. All tours were in english and very well done. We had no problems with pushy europens, everyone was very polite. We had a great time and would cruise Costa again.
