Beware !

Jut scheduled a Celebrity cruise. Ship docks at 7am and I thought I would get a flight out at 11:35am. Expedia told me no, it takes a couple of hours to dock and to not get one out until after 1pm, but when I called Celebrity, they said that was pushing it, not to schedule a flight until after 2pm. So now my 11:35am flight is now a 5:20pm flight! This is out of Baltimore, not an international port.

I have sailed 2x since 9-11. Both times with 11:30 flights - once out of Miami and once out of FLL.

Both times I was off the ship at 8:05 and to the airport at 9. Never had a problem.

Never sailed out of Baltimore before. Most of the time - they say to book flights after noo.

Hi Pat,

Better listen to the cruise line. Baltimore is a new port and the traffic in and out of the airports is very heavy not to mention the traffic in the general area of Baltimore/Washington.

Paul

Hey Pat,

I live about 40 minutes from the port of Baltimore, and I know for a fact that there is a lot of trouble at the Dundalk terminal in getting the passengers off on time for their flights. Many people have missed flights that were scheduled before 2 pm.
If any of you decide to leave your car at the port, it will be a real hassle from what I have heard.
Some passengers (without cruise line air) have debarked the Galaxy at 2:45 PM. I imagine it is due to the fact that this is a temporary port for cruise ships and the immigration officials are also temporary employees.

Always go with the cruiseline's directive unless you are adventurous. Then you can do what you like and hopefully your decision will be for the better.

Paul
