Which island has the best diving?

We've been to Grand Cayman 15 years ago before we were divers. At that time, we snorkeled there and thought it was wonderful. Now that we're divers, we want to go back to the Caymans. Which island has the best diving? If its Grand Cayman, what part of the island should we stay in? This is our 15th wedding anniversary and want to make this special. We want really nice accomodations. Thanks for the help!

I've been diving the past six years on the Grand Cayman Island, so I don't know about the other two. As far as the diving goes, IT'S FANTASTIC!!! The first few years I dove with "Off the Wall". They take small groups out. One day it was just my husband, the captain and myself. WOW!!! (not sure if they're still around) Look for a company that just takes out a small group. It's so much more fun and more personal attention. My guess is that most of the dive companies there are very good. They want you to have a goodtime. I used "Sunset resort" once and they were good too. But the best diving was with "Ocean Frontiers" on the east end. If you don't mind rough water, this crew will take you to some sites that very few companies go to because it's on the less crowded side of the island. My first dive was over a six thousand foot abyss and then on to some caverns that the guide led us through. Fabulous! Very friendly crew. You won't be disappointed with the diving there or anywhere on the island. The water is crystal clear and tons of wildlife. Surf the web for great places to stay there. "Sevenmile beach" for the action (shopping, restaurants, etc) or the east end for the quiet. We've always have stand on "Sevenmile beach", but next time we're heading to the otherside, because that's where all the great exploring is. We found a lot of beaches that we would have to ourselves all day. So don't be afraid to get in the car and look for those hidden places. Last time we were there was our 15th also! Cool!!! Have a great time!

For critter dives, St. Vincent and the Grenadines is the new "hot" place to dive. They are finding underwater life there never before seen. Young Island has nice accommodations - choose a suite with a plunge pool by the beach, or a Luxury Hillside suite.

The BVI doesn't have walls, or deep dives, but it has the famous Wreck of the Rhone, colorful reefs (yes, more colorful than Caymans) and lots of marine life. Peter Island has one of the best dive operations in the Caribbean. Biras Creek on Virgin Gorda is serviced by two dive operation who explore the northern side of the BVIs.

Bonaire also has great diving.

So, be sure to explore the options, there's lots for divers!

Diver's Magazine included a short video on diving in Curacao and underwater was clear and absolutely gorgeous. Captain Don's Habitat and resorts like that offer good diving services.

I have been to all 3 islands in the Caymans. For diving deffinitly Cayman Brac, but if you want to see stingrays I would say Grand Cayman, because of stingray city.
