We vacationed in GC last Feb. and stayed at the Marriott. The Westin is far superior the beach before Mitch was beautiful and large. We visited for dinner and the common spaces were 1st class. Until the Ritz is finished, the Westin is the #1 property on GC. The Hyatt loses points because it isn't on the beach. GC is a very friendly island and service is with a smile. The service workers are working for those tips.
Enjoy, Bart

we stayed there in august 1998. we liked it very much. beach is very large, you can walk for miles in either direction.pool is big and clean. sunsets are great from the beach. food pricey. talk with the doorman or bartenders, they will recommend other options.

Just returned yesterday from Westin GC. Had the the greatest time. Hotel is far and away the best resort on GC. Splurge for an oceanview room if you can. Island view is a parking lot. E-mail me for more info.

Cindra,

You may have heard all this before, but the Westin is truly the best resort on the island. The hotel is modern and very comfortable. The service and the food- excellent! The beach and ocean are also fantastic. While standing in the ocean just off the beach and with your eyes closed you'de swear you were in a pool, its that calm and warm. The water is also as clear as a pool. Although the beach is somewhat crowded at the resort, you can walk down the beach a little ways to find a more private spot. The best snorkeling spot at the Westin is on the south end of the beach (actually in front of the Condo's next door) about 200 yards out. We had the best time. For a romantic dinner try the Old House (hummm, doesn't sound right), but the tables are actually on a small wooden pier just above the crashing waves- also try Ferdinands at the Westin, and the Lobster Pot down town. If you have any other questions just e-mail me.
