Turks and Caicos hotel choice with teens
I am hoping this forum will come to my rescue. We are a family of 4 from California. We want a beach vacation this summer but prefer to try something other than Hawaii. We love Hawaii but have been many times and want to explore something new. I have decided on Turks and Caicos but can't decide on what hotel. We are, quite frankly, spoiled. We don't travel often and when we do, we like something luxurious. Our kids are 15 (boy) and 12 (girl). It will also be our 20th anniversary while we are away - yes, how romantic to travel with the kids on our anniversary. I have read a million reviews about Beaches and all the other high end hotels/resorts like Point Grace, Somerset, Grace Bay Club, Regent Palms, etc. I can't decide. I am worried about Beaches being too crowded and the food not being good enough (all four of us are foodies) but with the price of food being what it is on the Island, it seems like it would be easier for it all to be included. Would also be nice for the kids not to need us to entertain them. Welcome any suggestions - no matter where we choose, this vacation will be expensive so I hope to not have any regrets about our choice. I will add that we do love to meet new people when we travel but we hate to get up at 6AM to reserve a beach chair. So some compromise between big resort and small, intimate boutique would probably be perfect.

I would also recomend The Somerset, Regent Palms for a luxury
stay on the more central location of the beach.
Love the 2 resorts with great service and suites.
In the more moderate range I like The Sands too.
Hey....most places are not too shaby!

There is no bad place to stay, but most resorts have their own personality.
Point Grace I wouldn't do with kids. There are signs saying "quiet area" around the pool, so with kids, probably out.
Grace Bay Club and Regent Palms are terrific with young teenagers-there will be others to meet and hang out with. Palms has a terrific spa, Grace Bay Club has a terrific active programs you can put your kids in-everything from horse back riding, to snorkeling, etc.
Somerset is my favorite, gorgeous resort, excellent. It has the most boutique feel of the 3.
T&C is not the kind of place where you have to get up and reserve chairs, only at Beaches Resort.

We stayed at the Regent Palms when we went July 2 years ago. It was just my husband and I...no kids. But, it was definitely luxury and we loved it! Probably one of our favorite hotels we have ever stayed. We could go out to the pool or beach in the middle of the day and easily get a chair. The beach service is fantastic...servers always coming out to get you a drink or bring you water. The spa is fabulous and the overall service of the hotel is super. I found the restaurants at the hotel to be very good. Of course, some were pricy, but I didn't really find it to be more than other Caribbean hotels/locations I had been before.
