Need some help. My wife loves the beach and likes a room close so she can hear the waves..she likes to open the doors at night and listen to the waves. I have looked at all three websites and believe The Reefs would be my best choice. I don't know much about the rooms but we like a large room with a very nice bathroom too........

Of course food is important but we will probably be dining around at other places as well. We were in Bermuda before but we stayed at both Princess Hotels........

Thanks for any good advice. Golf or Tennis is not important but my wife likes the Spa and The Reefs has a very good one.

Ike, I think you answered your own question. Reefs seems to have all you need. I've heard good things about Pompano, but I haven't stayed there so can't comments further. I do know that Pompano has one of the nicest (if cozy in size) sand beaches on Bermuda, with lots of light blue sand flats off the shore. Very different perspective from Reefs, in that sense.

Bet you'll enjoy either one.

You asked this question before. If you click on your name, you can get the previous replies. One of the oceanfront rooms at Pompano is more likely to get you the ocean sound you want. Some of the rooms at the Reefs are quite a ways from the ocean. Don't know about Cambridge Beaches.

Does anyone know if there is a strict dress code at the Reefs for dinner. Hoping the men are not required to wear jacket and tie, a bit too stuffy while on vacation.

Jacket and tie is not required at the Reefs, although there will be men wearing them.

I am torn between the Reefs and Pompanc Beach, the Pompano's beach looks magnigicent,but get the feeling the accomodations are not as updated as the Reefs,which looks totally perfect. Looking to book for next June, would love some advice, opinions,thanks.

The Reefs IS perfect! Not stuffy but very nice, food is excellent, beachis small but beautiful. Go and enjoy!

Horizons

The Reefs is preferable to Pompano. My wife and I have stayed in both. Reef's rooms are more spruced up, the carpet in the dining room is not noticeably dirty, the food is better, you do see coats and ties -- which I like -- and it is marginally more formal but not stuffy, and the service is not only better but more personable (although the family that owns Pompano is very hospitable). I even like the view better since the rooms are oriented toward the coast as well as the ocean -- at Pompano, you look straight out at the water which, after dark, isn't much to look at. Cambridge Beaches is more expensive, more "Social Register" in feel. We have just had dinner there and the food is excellent. The physical setting and the grounds are the nicest of the three. Note my screen name -- that is my favorite place to stay but it is not on the beach.
