Reports I have read suggest that the reefs are not as damaged. You might go to www.scubadiving.com and ask your question on their forum - many folks on that board live and work in the islands so have very up-to-date info on conditions.

The reefs are in excellent condition. Some sites are even better due to the sand movement. There are a lot of pictures and trip reports here:

I spent a week in February diving the east end. Diving was great out there. Some of the softer corals and sea fans were scoured at shallow depths but for the most part you couldn't see any signs of Ivan under the water.
