Need help with my travel plan .

Hi All, we're a family of four, two adults and two children of 7 and 17. During the winter break ( Feb 13-22) we booked a cruise from Tampa, FL. Our cruise will take us to Rotan Island, Honduras, Belitz, Costa Maya and Cozumel, Mexico. Please advise us which tours we should take in each port. Should we take the tours from the cruise ships or take those after arrival at the port which will be cheaper. Thanks.

You should re-post this on the Mexico/Central American forum.

Go to cruisecritic.com for reviews of every port and port activities, good guides, etc. Join the roll call on cruisecritic for your cruise to join other people who plan and put together small groups to do tours, etc. This is one of the best cruise forums going.

In Cozumel, we joined another family with a small child the age of ours and hired a taxi to take us to a lovely beach with a gorgeous pool, changing rooms, restaurant, etc. It was a great day. I will look up the beach.

You can also post your question on the cruise forum. Many cruisers here on Fodors are very experienced and have done a lot of research before their cruises to these ports. People who do primarily cruises are likely to know more about cruise ports.

Just checked. We went to Paradise beach club in Cozumel. Another popular one is Mr Sanchos beach club. They both have nice pools and blowup water slides, etc. There are probably others. Look on trip advisor.

We have never taken a tour through the cruise ship. Sometimes we meet other people and get together for a taxi or van tour. Sometimes we hire a taxi on our own. However, there are places where it would be best to have something planned and booked, especially with teens.
