Leaving for Aruba in 1 week...a couple of questions.

DH and I are off to Aruba for 5 nights next week. I have a couple of quick questions...

1.) We have not rented a car as this is purely a vegging on the beach vacation Are there taxis at the airport when we arrive that we can take right to our hotel (Radisson)? How long of a ride is it?

2.) Is there a place we can check our e-mail nearby, either at the Radisson, or at an internet cafe?

3.) Our friends are staying at the Mill Resort...how far away of the Radisson is this in terms of walking distance? Also, if we wanted to lay out with our friends on Palm Beach, how does this work in terms of beach chairs at each hotel? Are you only allowed to use the chairs if you are a guest of that particular hotel?

Thanks so much...I promise a trip report when we return!

Stayed in Aruba last August '05. GREAT trip and loved the island! Taxis are plentiful from airport. You should have no problem. Radisson is in the "hotel zone" as is the Mill Resort. As I recall, it is a bit of a walk but do-able. Can't answer the rest. Try to get to downtown to shop. We very much enjoyed a tour of the island on one of the safari jeep tours. You can book these from your hotel.

Hi! Stayed at the Radisson in October '04. Gorgeous hotel! Yes, you can take a cab right from the airport. They're waiting there -- no need to call. I think it was about $25-30, and a 20-minute or so ride. The Radisson was very relaxed about who could sit on their beach (we got a palapa every day without making reservations), so no worries!

We were in Aruba last week. There was never a problem getting taxis. Expect about $20 one way to the Radisson. During our stay we walked to restaurants (from the Marriott) and only one time used a taxi to go to El Gaucho's (our favorite restaurant). The taxi fare from Marriott to El Gaucho was $10.

There are places to check e-mail lots of places around Aruba, and probably at the Radisson, also.

Have a great time!

There is an internet cafe a short walk from the Radisson. Walk up towards the Holiday Inn. Before you actually get to the Holiday Inn, there is a SBARRO Italian Eatery on the other side of the street. The internet cafe is in back of SBARRO Italian Eatery. The Mill Resort is a short distance from the Radisson on the other side of the street. Ask the cab driver to point it out on the way to your hotel. All the beaches in Aruba are public. But the chairs belong to the hotels. There are signs all over saying chairs are for registered guests of the hotel. You take it from there. I hope this helps.
