Grenada-Canadian by Rex or Coyaba?

Hi. My husband and I are in the planning stages for a February vacation to Grenada. (We've never been there before.) My husband is a diver. We both like to snorkel.I understand that Grenada isn't a huge snorkeling destination. We like a beautiful beach but we also like to be able to jump in the water and look around, too. Our two favorite islands are Bonaire and Grand Cayman but we like to try new places. I've just started researching hotels and have read that there is some snorkeling at the Grenadian by Rex Resort. However, it seems that Grand Anse beach is the most beautiful beach on the island, so I'm also considerinig the Coyaba Beach Resort. Just wondering if anyone has any input. Which of these places is nicer? I'm leaning towards staying on Grand Anse beach because I don't know that the snorkeling will be "worth" missing Grenada's premier beach. Thanks for any advice!

The title of my post should have been Grenadian by Rex! Not Canadian by Rex! Ha! Sorry!

We stayed at Coyaba when we went to Grenada several years ago. We enjoyed it. The location is very central and the beach was terrific. The food was extraordinary! We snorkeled down by the rex in front of the aquarium restaurant. I'm not sure if the rex has been upgraded. It was a little run down when we were there.

Thanks so much for the reply. Just wondering how did you get from Coyaba to the Rex? Did you rent a car? We're thinking of doing that because we'd like to drive around and see the island. Was the snorkeling good? Is there any snorkeling at all on Grand Anse beach?
If anyone has any info at all on Grenada (accommodations, tips, etc.) I'd love to hear it!

we rented a car...I believe it was Archie something or other at the airport...it was good. The snorkeling was okay at the Aquarium. The make the best pina coladas! There is snorkeling on Grand Anse, but not an abundance. We saw some interesting fish.
