Gifts for indigenous peoples/Bequia

We're traveling to St Vincent and islands south of St Vincent and wondered if anyone knows of any specific gifts or items that the indigenous people of the area would like. We have taken along a number of items on previous trips and just wondered if anyone has something that was a "hit" with the boat boys and younger set in the islands

Don - don't have a clue as to what to reommend but wanted to ask you to PLEASE post a trip report when you return. I've been trying to get my husband to sail the Grenadines with me for the past few years and would love to hear a first hand report.

What type of gifts do you take with you?

Meg, have hubby look at the Windjammer trips thru the Grenadines. We did it a few years ago and are going to do it again n May. It's a great way to see the islands.

Thanks, Cheri. We have looked at that but have decided that it's probably not for us. We are leaning towards a Moorings charter when we finally do it and just decide each night which island to see the next day. I can't wait! Which was your favorite Grenadine? Hubby and I have a joke about my desire to find my favorite Grenadine! Thanks again.

That's like asking if I have a favorite child! They were all great in their own way and it would be very hard to pick a favorite. They stopped at Martinique and I was underwhelmed by it, I thought the people on Ile de Saintes were extremely rude but other than that it was a great experience, that's why we're doing it again!

Meg,

We'll be sure to post a trip report when we return. We have been down this way before. And, I recall that the local folks liked watches (Casio etc) back then. But that was years ago. Don
