Four week villa vacation is quiet beautiful island - where to go?

Hello all,
Last year my family and I rented a villa in Bonaire and had a lovely time. Pros - quiet, inexpensive, off the beaten path. Cons - lack of sandy beaches. We are looking to do a similar vacation this year, but want to try another island. We want quiet, relatively inexpensive and we plan to rent a villa with a pool. We would like beautiful sandy beaches with calm pristine waters for young children to swim. We are looking at Jan/Feb time frame. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks.

We have enjoyed several visits to Montserrat & stayed here - http://www.vrbo.com/57611 Sun is an excellent hostess. I have some old trip reports on here & you'll not find more 'off the beaten path' in the Caribbean.

Also, the beaches are all black sand (due to the volcano(es)) except for one, which is quite difficult to get to, the black sand is almost like talcum powder.

You don't say what inexpensive means--but take a look at Nevis. Renting for a month and buying food to cook in, reduces expenses. There are a lot of villas from which to choose.

Look at www.nevis1.com and then look at villa rentals.

St John would fit that bill.

Not sure I would consider St. John to be "inexpensive" but then again it depends on one's budget and idea of expensive.
