Does St. Lucia = 1 Dad, 1 Son, 1 Daughter & 1 Daughter's Friend?
Looking for some quick advice on where to head for a 5 day holiday for 1 Dad (60yrs), 1 son (28), 1 daughter (24) and 1 daughter's friend (24). We are looking for an easy going spot with beaches, gambling, water sports and some upbeat nightlife for the younger crew. We would all like to stay in 1 suite type resort for accommodations. Not sure if St. Lucia is the right speed for us? Help!
Cheers,
Chucko

Chucko, I went to St. Lucia for my honeymoon and I've also been to several other places in the Caribbean.
Based on what your'e looking for I'd suggest a different island. St. Lucia does not have a lot of gambling or a bustling nightlife that would entertain your kids. I'm in my early 30s and would've been bored stiff if I went to St. Lucia with my friends, but I loved it for my honeymoon.
I recommend Aruba or the Bahamas. Aruba is like Las Vegas in the Caribbean, but not as over-the-top. Aruba has lots of nightlife with various bars, restaurants and casinos in most of the major hotels. Stick to the big-name hotels on the strip by Palm Beach like the Hyatt, Wyndham and your family will enjoy it.
Bahamas also has great beaches and may be easier for you to reach and less expensive than Aruba for 5 days.
Hope that helps.

Chucko, you should definately go to Jamaica!!! There is so much to do there from climbing dunn's river falls, to bareback horseback riding in the carribean sea!!! There is not a lot of gamblng although I recall the hotels having some slot machines and pool tables but they have some awesome nightlife- cliff diving to watch and shows. All the big hotels have tons of watersports.
The weather is awesome and the people there are so friendly. I went with a group similiar to yours a few years ago and we all had a blast.
Good luck.

Chucko,
With all due respect, here's what I'd do...book the son and daughter into some nice resort in the Bahamas or the T&C's.
Then book yourself and the D friend into the private bungalows on Petite St. Vincent. By the time the smoke clears...well...just enjoy whatever you end up doing.
