Shout out to Anselm and other Gros Morne visitors
Great lunch today at Justin Thyme in Norris Point. They also offer a dinner menu, which chsnges daily. Eclectic decor, casual ambiance, great music, and delicious food. Having dinner tonight at Chantrelle. Will report back. The weather is crummy, bring your rain gear and bug spray!

I have been watching the weather forecast with a bit of a sinking heart, but bug spray? There wasn't a malicious insect in sight last September! I'll pack the Deep Woods Off, or whatever it's called.
Thanks for the restaurant pointer, cmcfong. We're going to prepare a couple of our evening meals in our cabin, but we'll certainly be prowling around for new places to dine.
Are you enjoying Gros Morne despite the weather and insects? And did anyone mention that you need to watch out for moose on the roads? (The late David West must be muttering something about meese.)

I am loving it!
I can now report that I had an exceptional meal at Chantrelle. Worth a repeat vist. Blue sky appeared, albeit for less than ten minutes, we are moose awre!, the bugs are small biting gnats which have been very annoying. Wonderful place and very glad to be here.

Weather this morning was iffy, but the afternoon was spectacular! Kodi, I saw a littke girl on the Western Brook pond boat tour with blood all over her shirt collar. Her dad said it was mosquitos biting her. I have large welts along the back of my neck which are from some biting bug. Just gotta suck it up and go have fun!!!!!

Thanks for that that advice, cmcfong. The Western Brook Pond tour is spectacular, isn't it? I must say, though, that I found the description of the rock falls a bit unsettling. One wouldn't want to be underneath the cliff when a piece of the rock lets go.

Oh no! The bugs sound like a real problem. Fortunately we didn't have that problem. But I shouldn't e telling you that. Take an antihistamine for the welts.
I'm so glad you had decent weather for the boat tour . .
Travel safe tomorrow. Hopefully the bugs will stay in the west .

The boat trip was spectacular. It was cloudy and overcast, but we thought that suited the place! Anselm, I was thinking the very same thing! Off to Great Falls today. Still hoping to see the aurora borealis. We have seen mink and bear so far....no whales, icebergs or puffins.
