Post Hotel, Moraine Lodge, or Emerald Lodge?

Hi all, I've got a honeymoon coming up in September and I'm trying to choose between these three places. Any tips from those who've been there? Thanks.

Mike, depending on your budget I would definately recommend staying in the "Point Cabin" at Emerald Lake Lodge. It is not inexpensive but this cabin (different from the others at the hotel) looks directly out over the lake and the valley and is very private. It is a suite with a large living room, seperate bedroom and an incredible bathroom with a large jacuzzi that you can relax in and look out to the lake. All this plus a wrap around deck to hang out on. The food and wine list is first rate and the whole setting is very secluded. Right outside your door is amazing hiking, a casual stroll around the lake or in September you will still be able to rent a canoe and paddle the lake.

Other posters may recommend The Post Hotel in Lake Louise and yes it has a great reputation but the setting (down in LL townsite not adjacent to the lake) is not as spectacular as Emerald Lake.

Of the three mentioned, which is the least costly? We are looking at the Post, but frankly, it's more than we usually spend on lodging!
Thanks. Marlyne

Marlyne, all three hotels have different rates at different times of the year. They also have B+B specials. I suggest you call all three and see which one best suites your budget.

You cannot go wrong with any of the three. I personally liked Emerald lake lodge the best because it is so secluded. For a honeymoon I cannot think of a better place. My wife and I spent two nights there a cpl years back and have absolutely nothing bad to say about the place.

I am leaving for a hiking trip in the area on Aug 17 and ironically the trip is scheduled to stay at all three places! I guess I have a trifecta!

I LOVE Moraine Lake Lodge. Stayed there a few years ago and it is wonderful. Never stayed at Emerald Lake altho I have visited the lake. To me, Moriane Lake is the most beautiful in the world!
Have fun.....
