Cold. Very Cold. Very, very, very cold. Other than having the coldest winters in Canada Winnipeg has very warm people and is very flat as is the rest of Manitoba. Are you nuts? Well, not if you find extremely cold, flat places with very nice warm people to your liking.

In all fairness I should mention that I'm from Vancouver and have never experienced temperatures below -15C or about 3F in my life so even the thought of -25-35C scares the poopoo out of me. But the few times I have been to Winnipeg in the Spring and Summer I quite enjoyed it - especially the Forks area and, as I said, the really nice people.

Hi! I live in Winnipeg, for 30 years now. January can be cold -15 to -30. Bring warm coat, hat etc. We may have some of the coldest winters in Canada, but Winnipeggers are warm and friendly people. There are many interests here. There is the Museum of Man and Nature. Gives you an idea of Manitoba's history. Childrens Museum- many fun things for children to do. Good shopping, excellent nightlife. We have so many restaurants here, that you would not get bored eating out! Manitoba is prairie, but we also boast beautiful forest, lakes etc. I hope you enjoy our province! And no, you are not nuts. I'm still here after 30 years and love it!
