Ideas for extra night traveling from Canmore to Spokane
Hello fellow travelers!
Husband and I are traveling from Sept. 1 to Sept 15, driving from Spokane on Sept. 2 to Lake Louise (Deer Lodge 2 nights) , then to Jasper (Becker's Chalets 3 nights), then back down to Canmore (Airbnb 5 nghts) I find myself with an extra night to play with. I thought I had return reservations on Sept 14 instead of the 15. My question is : Any ideas on how or where we should spend the 2 nights we have to travel back to Spokane? Calgary or some place in between Canmore and Spokane, closer to Spokane? It would be a Saturday(Sept. 12) and Sunday(Sept. 13) then back to Spokane the night of the 14th and depart the 15th. Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

What are your interests?
If you have an extra day or two, there are certainly interesting places to visit in southern Alberta or southern BC.
Southern AB would be more culture/First Nations, while you could do wine/warmer weather in southern BC.

I would head back to Spokane through the Kootenays and overnight in Nelson BC, a lovely town. From there it's about 3 hours or so to Spokane.
Either head south from Canmore to Highway 3 and the Crowsnest Pass or through Kootenay National Park and south on 93.

i would do one of two things. drive from canmore and spend one night in revelstoke and one night in nelson. or, if you want a longer drive, drive to nelson for two nights. in nelson, i highly recommend the hume hotel. ask for a room on the 4th or 3rd floor. no lower as there is a bar there. the restaurant the library is lovely with good food. you also get free breakfast there. go look at kokaney creek provincial park and there are some hotsprings in the area too. between golden and revelstoke, take a stop at giant cedars boardwalk park. lovely 20 minute walk. in revelstoke, we liked the monashee lodge. meadow in the sky was nice.
one other thought i just had...you could go down to waterton lakes national park. that's a great place for a 2 nights stop. recommend the chophouse for a restaurant.
