Two week trip to Australia/NZ
I am travelling to Australiza/NZ in first half of April. Trip plan is 7 days in Australia and six days in NZ. Wanted to check on the following NZ itinerary. We plan to fly in to Queenstown:
Day 1: reach in morning. go for Bungy in afternoon.
Day 2: Drive to te anau (stop at Glenorchy on the way). Overnight at te anau.
Day 3: visit milford fjord and return to Queenstown. overnight at queenstown
Day 4: Do sky diving
Day 5: travel to Fox glacier. Overnight at fox glacier
Day 6: ecplore glaciers. Overnight at fox glacier
Day 7: return to Queenstown and catch flight to Melbourne.
Planning to rent a car. we are two couples with two 3 year old kids. both of us can drive, so driving may not be an issue. key interest are bungy and sky diving and seeing natural beauty. If we see wild life for kids, would be a bonus.
wanted to know if it is advisable to cut glacier trip (3 days) and spend the same in and around Queenstown /te anau. we have been to hill stations with decent snow cover over in india but don't know if glacial views would be much different.
If we cut glacier trip, what are the places we can see over in queenstown. Limited interest in beaches but mountains, lakes would be great.
Also in australia, we plan to stay 7 days in elbourne (my brother stays there). we like thrill rides and planning to go to Gold coast for couple of days, but after bungy and sky diving, would it make sense to go to gold coast just for that.
Any suggestions would be welcome

That seems like a good itinerary. I think the inclusion of the glaciers is fine. The minimum age for the glacier walk is 7 years old so your kids will not be able to go onto the glacier itself. Nor would they be up to the walk out to either of them I think. My five year old nephew did it but needed to be carried at times. The age limit may be different for the helihike. Lake Matheson is worth an early morning walk.
Where are you flying in from? If it is a long haul flight, you might not be up to throwing yourself off a bridge in the afternoon.
Glenorchy is not on the way to Te Anau. It's in the opposite direction. However, if is worth a visit, especially if you walk a bit of the Routeburn track.

thanks. i am planning the trip from Melbourne,so would not be taking a long haul flight.
my brother told me that i need to carry the pram at all times in Australia and Newzealand as per law requirements. In india we only carry pram when we are out full day and the kid needs to sleep in between. Is it really mandatory to carry pram all the way there. Also, is it an offense if my kid walks on the road holding my hand.

Children must be in appropriate child car seats at all times you are in a car - even for a 2 minute trip up the road. Ask your hire car company if they can provide them and what their charge is.
Kids don't need to be in a pram if you're just going for a walk down the street - holding your hand is fine.

Great. Also wanted to check if it is advisable to come in via Christchurch, take the tranzalpine train to greymouth and then travel onwards to glaciers and onwards to Queenstown or base all my travel from Queenstown itself.

I just did the TranzAlpine over Christmas. It was a beautiful sunny day and the views were fantastic. The train leaves about 8am and arrives about 12.45pm so there is time to pick up a car and drive down to the glaciers all in one day.
