Sydney on New Years Eve: Worth It?

Jump to last reply

My disclaimer: I absolutely HATE these "is it worth it?" posts and here I am posting one!

We are in process of a hotel reservation in Sydney for a period encompassing NYE this December 2015. Today I got an e-mail and the hotel wants me to send them a credit card charge authorization form along with a picture of the front and back of the credit card and some sort of picture identification document no later than 5 February so they can charge my credit card.

This is a reservation which is supposedly non-refundable already.

Called central reservations: they cannot modify it so I am going to call Sydney later today (when they get out of bed) to see if I can e-mail this info to them (and I am not real comfortable with that).

Every other hotel site (which still shows availability) will charge my CC for the full amount and be done with it but not the Radisson Blu hotel for whatever reason.

I am beginning to wonder if it is worth all this hassle to see some fireworks shot off a bridge!

Just a vent. Perhaps we should be in Melbourne instead!!!!
