Joy,

In what sense do you mean "Fodorites", if you mean those people who regularly respond to enquiries from potential visitors to this forum then I guess I would fit the bill.

It would be terriffic to meet the local contributors, however I think we are spread throughout the length and breadth of Australia. That's what makes our inputs so valuable to the potential guest.

I have often thought about proposing a wbesite made up of those of us who contirbute on a regular basis, such that we could direct people to it who ask similar questions about Australia.
However Fodors may object to this unless we worked in conjunction with them and only allowed access to the site through them and did not allow any forums on the site. Fodors might like to make a page for us to contibute our knowledge to.

I know that there are several people here in Australia who regularly contribute to this forum and I think we all offer highly creditable and valuable information to the prospective guests to our country.

If you or anyone else decides to hold a get together I would try to attend but I could not make any promises as my full time occupation must take precedence. Considering that I am constantly travelling around Australia you never know I might be in the area.

Cheers

Paul:
Yes I mean Fodorites in the sense of people who use this site often. I asked because I have seen references to get togethers of such people in several parts of the world and it sounds interesting. So do your plans. I'm going to post a message about other get-togethers if you want to look out for the response. Do you travel so much because you are a travel writer or similar?

I would love to hear from you 'regular posters' in Oz. I posted a question on the Aussie board in August 1999. I had a response from Tiana Templeman (I'm sure you remember her - although she's not on the board much any more) and we have become fast friends. We correspond faithfully, a couple of times a week. My husband and I are visiting Sydney, and then on to Qld for ten weeks in the New Year. Tiana's help has been invaluable in planning our trip, and the best part is that we will finally get to meet in February. This forum is great for learning about travel from those who know the places best.
Keep up the good work!
