web booking for Thailand tours

Am looking to book the June Bahtra Phang Nga bay cruise in Phuket and the price differentials betwen the various web sites is huge. Sawadee.com is nearly half the price of East-West Siam for example. Before I send in credit card info I'd like to know if anyone has had experience booking a tour through them. I know there have been good reports about hotel bookings with Sawadee, but tours can be different as there are so many variables. I've e-mailed back to ask them to list exactly what is included.

If I were you, I'd wait until you get to Thailand to book any tours. They will be more expensive over the internet and you won't know as much about what you are getting.

I agree with Kathie, wait until you get there, you will find countless brochures in your hotel lobby plus several local Phuket magazines in your room and you can browse at your leisure, virtaully every hotel/resort/guest house has a tour desk and you can see what is on offer. Another reason for waiting until you arrive is that you need to get a feel for how many trips you want to take and nothing worse than maybe feeling tired or simply 'not in the mood' but realising you have booked and paid for a trip that you don't want to take on a particular day but stuck because you will loose probably the greater amount ( or all ) of what you have paid.
I say wait until you get there.

James/Kathie, I generally agree with you, and we never usually take tours when we travel anyway, but in this instance, this particular cruise on this particular boat just appeals to us, and we would like to do it. I am concerned that if I do not book in advance it may not be available on the day that we want during high season (end of January)in Phuket. To guarantee that it is available I am willing to "lock into" a booking, but want to make sure that Sawadee.com is reliable for tours before I do so.
