The Great Fodor's Fall Japan Exodus Begins Tues w/Craig & Jeane's Departure
I did not tag this as a trip report because that will come later. However, we head to Tokyo on Air Canada from Hartford/Bradley and will meet up with Mr. & Mrs. RHK and Mr. & Mrs. HT and others at the Tokyo GTG on Saturday. We will then veer off the tourist track a bit to fly to the Noto Peninsula and stay at a B&B known for its great seafood. Next we drive to Kanazawa where we will meet up with the RHK's and HT's to enjoy dinner with KimJapan one night and a geisha performance at our machiya on another. From there we take a train to Naga Onsen for a night in a luxurious ryokan, followed by another train ride to Kyoto where we will again meet up with the RHK's and HT's for nightly dinners. After 5 nights in Kyoto, we head home on ANA/United via Washington Dulles. I am sure we will be able to post as the trip progresses as will the others who are journeying in Japan at the same time or following us in November. Looking forward to a great trip and enjoying the company of fellow Fodorites along the way...

Safe travels, and looking forward to everyone's impressions. Hoping you have nice weather, as the c-o-l-d is going to be settling in, at least in Illinois (glad I'm heading to BKK on Wednesday).

Just catching up with Fodor's this fine Singapore morning, so will wish you bon voyage Craig (and Jeane) - and savour your times in joyous Japan!
Not certain if you are part of the illustrious first-time Japan travelling, Fodorite contingent staying at the Park Hyatt Tokyo (is it Citadines, Shinjuku, for you?), but if so, she was as fine as ever ~ fortnight back for ~ two days of meetings. Wherever you stay - and dine - you will be in such gracious hands. (In a most recent Tokyo business dinner, a memorable - and rather infrequent and always cherished - 'Michelin star' restaurant, for review in future; am certain esteemed Japan-loving Fodorites will have most suitable dining - and entertainment - for you; enjoy.)
Thanks for your years of supporting and appreciating our fine city-state of Singapore, Craig and Jeane (and perhaps one of these days, forever flying 'up front' with SQ, N. America-Asia return; honoured to offer SIA suggestions).
Business travel flying day ex-SIN for me (to one of beloved "dogster's" retreats for meetings); so, sweet and smooth flights - and Japanese holiday - to you and all,
macintosh (robert)

Craig, it was so great to see you & Jeane at the Boston GTG! (And I just got back from a visit to my dentist, where I received a clean bill of health.)
Bon voyage, and I am so looking forward to reading of the convergence of Fodorites upon Japan. I'm particularly interested in reading about tea ceremonies and geisha dinners!
Best Wishes,
Bookchick
