Smeagol and Muffins Vietnam adventure begins..
After months of planning, hours on the internet (most of it on here reading some great trip reports) Muffin and i fly off tonight for Hanoi via BKK.
I am going to try and do an "on the ground report" but not sure how likely that is.
A bit about us, i am mid (ish) 30's and Muffin is mid 40's,we have done some SE Asia countries (Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, HK, Bali) before and it's me really who keeps dragging poor old M (who HATES flying) half way across the world to see the glorious sites/food/culture of SE Asia that I love so much.
Am feeling slightly anxious as I aways do on flight day, but I have a cat to catch and put in the cattery and a meeting at work before i can really be Vietnam bound.
Our first stop is the Soitel Metropole Hanoi for 4 nights, I'll try and give an update from there........

Smeagol, please tell M it's utterly vital you continue to make these trips. People like me have to live vicariously through them for at least the next couple of years!! Best wishes for safe travels and I look forward to reading more about this trip soon.

Dogster am curious too as to why it got wiped!!
Hanuman - no can't attend the timings don't work out, we aren't in BKK till early Dec.
The good news is, the cat FINALLY made it to the cattery, i have been to my meeting am now getting ready and should be leaving for Heathrow in just over 1 hour YIPPEEE

Have a fantastic time! Can't wait to follow along on your adventure.
BTW, do yourself a favor and indulge in the chocolate buffet one afternoon at the Metropole. Absolutely sinful, gluttonous and a MUST.
