Singapore Botanic Garden in November

We're flying through Singapore around Thanksgiving. Are the gardens worth seeing at that time? I wouldn't mind a day or two layover if they are.
Any and all opinions welcome.
Thanks,
D

Absolutely! Singapore is virtually on the equator. In tropical climes there are things blooming year round. I always travel to SE Asia in the Nov/Dec/Jan time frame and the gardens are beautiful. Don't miss the orchid garden - a garden within the botanical gardens.

Thanks Kathie. (You're everywhere. I just finished ready your Burma trip reports - thanks for the link.) Sounds like a few days in Singapore on the way to Mandalay is just the ticket.

Yes, it would be a fine stop on your way to Mandalay. And what a contrast it will provide with Myanmar!

SE Asia is my favorite part of the world, so you will find me "everywhere" there.

Again: Absolutely! There is always plenty to see any time of the year. I particularly liked the rose garden where there are rose bushes that have been developed and named for famous world leaders. Even early in the morning you will need a hat. The only hat I've ever bought abroad in my all my years of travel was purchased there one morning out of desperation for shade over my face. While that was ten years ago, I still have it and it just went fishing with me on the Georgia coast.

There are several very interesting museums in Singapore. One, in particular, is the Asian Civilisations Museum that is inclusive of the cultural heritage of Singapore as well as other nations in the region. I had great fun playing the interactive gamelan instrument on display. ZZ
