Revising Itinerary - Including Galle?

Ok, so we get into Colombo around 4am on the 3rd of October. Here is what I am thinking -

From the airport - we go straight to Habarama. Use it as base to do the cultural areas. Stay in Kandy for 2 more nights. Then one night at Nuwara Eliya.

Here's the kicker though. Want to go to Galle - but daunted by the long drive from Nuwara Eliya to Galle. Is there a place we can halt for the night? somewhere nice?

We have 8 full days in Sri Lanka, though we need to be back in Colombo on the 8th night so that we can fly out early morning on the 9th day.

Will have my parents with me, and while they can walk - cannot do intense walking so we want to take it easy.

Thanks for any suggestions.

D

Personally, I wouldn't add Galle. Your time is short and all of you will be happier if you have fewer destinations. Spend another night in Tea country, and if you are interested in the history, add another night in Habanara/Dambulla.

My only thought, Kathie - we are very familiar with tea plantations...having spent years in Darjeeling ( foothills of the Himalayas, extensive tea plantations). Galle seems very interesting and fascinating.

It is your trip. You can spend your extra day anywhere, but be careful about trying to cram too much into this short trip.

Agreed. No plans of cramming in too much. Appreciate your thoughts on this.
