Looking for an airport hotel in BKK with reliable transport

We overnight in BKK with a 7 a.m. departure for U.S. Looking for a nearby clean hotel at no more than $50/night with reliable early morning airport transport. Can't afford the Novitel. We'll be at the hotel less than 12 hours!

You can stay in BKK it's self. At the hour you need to be at the airport it is a 1/2 hr drive. That's what we do. So pick any place , esp if it is near a highway entrance. Then get a taxi. Your holtel can arrange a taxi for what ever time you want.

Are you moving to the airport area from a hotel in Bangkok? If so, like Karen says, there is no reason to do that. Stay at your Bangkok hotel for your last night and you'll get to the airport just fine in the morning. I do this every trip.

If, on the other hand, you are flying in from somewhere late afternoon or evening and have to fly out in the morning early, that is a good time to use an airport hotel.

Go to www.agoda.com (or sawasdee) and type in Bangkok Airport you'll get a list of hotels near the airport. There are many in your price range.

We arrive at 7 p.m. from an international flight and depart the next morning at 7 for the U.S. I've checked with agoda and am thinking of the Best Western Amaratha, which has good reviews, good food and massages to prepare for the 30-hour fight home. Seems OK to splurge on the last night!

Cost of the Best Western Premier Amaranth Hotel near the airport was $82 for a double w/o breakfast (we have to leave at 5 a.m., no time to eat!) with free airport shuttle. Might even get a massage, as the spa is open til 11! Booked on agoda.com.
