Hi, I'll land in Kolkata at 1 am flying with Lufthansa from FRA. Is it possible / convinient to exchange money at the airport and during the night? Grazie, ciao.

I was in Kolkata airport in December. It's not a large airport. There was a cluster of pre-paid taxi desks and exchange windows. I can't remember whether there were ATMs. In my experience, in airports that have lots of night time arrivals/departures these desks stay open all night.

The exchange place and the pre-paid taxis are adjacent to one another, and are open 24hrs a day, I believe.

Just back from incredible India!
I have the answer to my question: YES, there is foreign currencies exchage desk in the airport and it's open during the nigth. BUT, BE CAREFUL!! Change the minimum you need, they apply a "special" exchange rate and service charge. The result has been that for 100 euro I got 5520 rupies; the following afternnon downtown Kolkata I had 6100 rupies for the same amount of euro. 10% more.
Ciao,
Gianni

Bob, there is an ATM in a kiosk across from the domestic terminal which is perhaps a 10 minute walk from the international terminal. No ATMs inside either of the terminals.
