Japan Luggage forwarding services questions.
We're going to be in Japan next month and after a cruise, taking the Shinkansen to Kyoto from Yokohama. We'd love to avoid dealing with all our luggage on the train. I've tried searching the luggage forwarding service (Tak-Q-Bin I think it's called.) but don't see that they have a counter to send luggage from at the Yokohama Cruise Ship Pier. Does anyone know?
Has anyone here used one of the luggage delivery services in Japan? Are there ever any problems with it? Is it really reliable and secure? It looks like a really great service, if it works.
Thanks!

We used it in November for our first trip to Japan. Fabulous service! I don't know whether it is available from the cruise ship pier, but I expect someone here will know. Every time we used it everything went very smoothly.

The main service is Kuronekoyamato - they do have an English website but the search information for local outlets is in Japanese - there is a contact phone number for English inquiries:

I tried to search on the Japanese page - it does look like there are a bunch of them near the port in Yokohama but I am certainly not positive nor do I know the hours.
I used them on my last trip between NRT and Kyoto, Kyoto and Tokyo and Tokyo and NRT and all went well.

Here's a link (in Japanese) it seems to be very close to the Osanbashi Passenger Terminal - is that where your ship enters port?

I had NO problems with takuhaibin services when I was in Japan. It really is a wonderful option! Here's some basis info:

In addition to the sources Mara identified, you might check options at convenience stores -- as I recall, many of them provide that service, but I could be wrong.
