Help with packing crisis
In my next life my wish is to have someone pack for me. It always puts me in a panic. We will be in Cambodia, Vietnam and Bangkok from February 7 to February 26. I know that the climate is different in all of these areas. Please help me select the right mix of clothes.

Unless you are going to Sapa, all of these places will be hot. If you are in Hanoi, you might appreciate a wrap in the evening. Plan for natural fabrics, and plan to wear things that cover a lot of skin to protect you from the sun and from mosquitoes. You will also appreciate a wrap or a light sweater in the shopping centers in Bangkok, as many of them are over-air-conditioned.

After you contacted Tong for me she replied immediately, however, now I cannot get any response. I am trying to finalize as we r leaving in 3 weeks. I have been trying for more than 3 weeks. This makes me concerned. Any suggestions?

Three-four day outfits, three evening outfits, light sweater, bathing suit, cover-up, dressy sandals, walking sandals, sneakers, pjs, hat, sunglasses. Clothes should be cotton or linen as noted above. Small med kit w/ antibiotics, Tamiflu, Pepto Bismol, Benedryl cream. Should fit in a carry on. Don't panic - you can get anything you need in the larger cities.

We were in those countries this past Jan/Feb. For us Hanoi was overcast most of the time & very chilly esp at night. BKK & Siem Reap were very hot esp SR. As mentioned about the a/c in BKK was freezing to me. I ended up buying something that I could throw over my shoulders and stuff in my bag when not in a/c.
For some reason contacting Tong thru Facebook got her attention and generally a response.

Thanks everyone as always. I am sure I will pack and unpack several times as usual. I think that I'd just part of the planning for a big trip. On the other hand my DH will start the night before and be fine.

Hi, 1lady,
We're off to India next week and I'm having the same panicky moments as you. And my husband will pack practically nothing and will be fine!
I'm not so worried anymore about clothes - it's the jacket/sweater combination that I'm trying to figure out, what with the chilly weather in Delhi and warmer weather during the day elsewhere. Could be a range of 50 degrees!

No need to panick. We bring a light weight gortex jacket which is good for wet weather and also serves as wind breaker/light jacket. Bring one long sleeve shirt or light weight sweater which you can layer over a light shirt. We don't bring dressy clothing and have never had a problem getting into a nice restaurant. I bring only the sneakers that I wear as we do a lot of walking and comfort is of utmost concern. Instead if a pocketbook, I carry a lightweight backpack which I use for anything that doesn't fit into my carry on bag. Generally it is practically empty going, but gives me space to carry a jacket and book around while traveling. It also allows for additional room for souveneers on the return trip.

Trust me, Vietnam is not the fashion capital of the world. You will find many wonan wearing colorfully patterned outfits that look like pajamas with different patterns on the top and bottoms.
That being said, ad in most Asian countries, you should dress modestly. Covering the shoulders is respectful and also helps protect you from the harsh sun, but otherwise, dress for comfort. I personally do not bring dress clothes and wear only my sneakers as we tend to walk great distances daily. Capris or pants are fine. A long skirt is good too. Not sure I'd wear a mini skirt although they seemed in high fashion in china, worn with tights and boots - very fashionable.

The weather is changing in New Delhi according to my Google reports. It should be in the mid 70's by the end of the week. I think warm weather clothes will be fine. And Crosscheck said we can wear our black tee shirts.

We are leaving on Wednesdsy and I am finishing the packing. DH has not started as he only takes care of himself. I hsve to deal with all of the extras. To that point should I take the sun screen and bug spray or buy it there? All of this takes so much room?
We ate also still working on getting our business class between Osaka and Bangkok. Calling several times a day.
