Ever Stayed At Thavorn Beach Village, Phuket Thailand
Can anyone tell me personaly about the Thavorn Beach Village resort in Phuket, Thailand? I heard the villas are beautiful. Is this true? How much did you pay and when? Is the beach nice for swimming or is it too rocky? How was the food?

Last year I stayed at the Chedi and have stayed at the Anantara in Hua Hin if that helps for comparison.

Thanks so much in advance!

Time of year is important, May to October swimming very risky. What time of year were you thinking of? It will not be of the level of the Chedi but it is much nearer to shopping and entertainment than the Chedi.
Try http://www.phuketgazette.net as there are plenty of links for prices and details of Kata and Karon.

Sorry, got it confused with the Thavorn Palm! The Thavorn Village is at Nakalay, small beach area about 8kms north of Patong,
$ 145 - 315 depending on leason, low until end October, High from start of November, the pool Villas go at around $ 200 - $ 400.
It's a private beach, many of the villas are built high up on the hillside overlooking the beach. All the info is on Planetholiday.com.
Why not try the Kata Thani at Karon, half the price for a junior suite but rooms as opposed to villas, but good place. I'd find the Thavorn village too remote, the road to/from Patong is steep hills whichever way you go but it's easier from Karon.

Thank you everyone for responding.

I am planning my trip for March. I have been to Thailand five times, twice to Phuket. Nine years ago we stayed at the Kata Thani which was beautiful -then. Last year went back and saw how over-built it was with the tour groups and lots of erosion. Kind of sad and in the meantime my situation has changed and I can afford something nicer.

Last year we went to Hua Hin and stayed at the Anantara. The beach was disappointing. I love to swim in the ocean and didn't go in once. A few years back we went to Popppies in Koh Samui and loved it. Charming.

The Thavorn I am interested in is the one with the cable cars and the new villas built on the hill looking out over the ocean.

Any more feedback so appreciated!
