I have just returned from Sri Lanka, which is my second visit in less than a year. I had the same driver for independent travel both times, a man arranged for me through friends, whom I can recommend and then, on August 8, I had dealings with another driver who seemed even better. If you want more information, call me at 404 373 7505. ZZ
Are you only interested in an individual driver? There are some advantages of booking though a company, as if the car breaks down, the company will deliver a new one, or if your driver is not a good match, they can arrange for a new driver.
How long are you going for? What parts of the country are you visiting?
Go to the top of this page and choose Sri Lanka from the drop-down menu and you'll find a number of trip reports that may be helpful to you.
Zambezi, please write a trip report for us!

just search his name in Google you will find his info as we are not permitted submit any contact details in open forum .>>
i don't think that's correct, sunfun.
what is not allowed is for your driver to submit HIS contact details on this forum as that is advertising. plenty of people mention the details of people they have used and are recommending. it's no different to saying that you liked this hotel or another restaurant.
Of course, sunfun might well BE a driver or TA.

Probably to late for you, but this may be helpful to others. We used Terry at Jeero guest house in Negombo jeero@smaps-asia.com. We were there for one week in February and spent 5 days in Annaradhapura, Sigiriya, Kandy, and Adam's Peak. We spent the last 2 days at Jeero Guest House on the beach in Negombo. The prices were reasonable and they were very responsive to our needs. At one place we were given a better room after we told our driver our first room was less than we expected. I think you would find Terry to be the type of tour organizer you are seeking. We actually had one of his drivers, Sheehan, who did a remarkable job. Terry can be a little hard to get a hold of as he often out with customers, but he was good about responding to our inquiries.
