Considering Ethnic Travel for Ha Giang tour. Advice?
My husband, son and daughter in law are planning a 5 day tour of the Ha Giang area. I've had a very helpful, prompt, professional response from Ethnic Travel. I like their itinerary and their approach to travel. Their website shows some of the guides and a number are from the mountain ethnic minority groups. I've looked at many travel agents websites for this tour and the Ethnic Travel stood out for me. Plus there is positive feedback on Tripadvisor . Most of the other agents really have no feedback.
We arranged our 2010 Vietnam trip with Tonkin Travel and I will definitely persevere in getting a proposal from them. I say persevere because I have sent 3 emails in 5 days - just requesting to be told our request was received and someone is working on it. I will call tomorrow. They were so helpful and immediately responsive for our first trip. This seems strange and unfortunately not very promising.
Any advice, tips, suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!

My husband and I are doing a Ha Giang (Northeast Special - Hidden Indochina) tour at the end of February. We have arranged this with Vega Travel (vega-travel.com) formerly Fanispan Travel. They have customized the trip by adding a night and reversing the order in order for us to go to the Lung Phin market as well as get to Hanoi in good time for our departure on the last day. They have been incredibly helpful as well as responding to all questions and emails promptly. Also arranged our visa on arrival without us paying them in advance. Will be happy to do a trip report when I get back in march if that helps you out.

It is really good to get a response and I will look at that website. Now we have 3 proposals from Ethnic Travel, Exotissimo, and Tonkin (very rough). Ethnic appears the most experienced in that area but we are still thinking things over. I would LOVE to see a trip report when you get back. Happy travels!

DH thought I was awfully hard on Tonkin which I didn't mean to be. For the record the problem seemed to be with the emails which they were sending but I wasn't getting, but that is straightened out.
