Bangkok airport hotel

On our flight to Laos we will be in transit in Bangkok for about 6 hours.

We would like to have a rest because we had a nightflight.

If necessary we are willing to leave the airport.
But on re-entering Suvarnabhumi we would have to pay the airport tax and face possible immigration delays. There is also the transfer time and cost to the hotel.

We are not sure what to do.
Has anyone stayed at the Louis' Tavern Dayrooms in the airport ?
Is the quality acceptable ? Or do you suggest another hotel nearby ?

We fly economy and we do not have lounge access.

Thanks !

Hi Emro,
6 hours is not a lot to leave airport, your arriving flight could be delayed too making connection shorter.
Have no experience with Louis but did stay at Thong Ta recently for $29 through Agoda. It was fine, 10 minutes from airport, free shuttle and breakfast. http://thongtaresortbangkok.com/
I have also stayed at Novotel attached to airport but it is in $170 range

You may be advised to check out the "pay" lounges that most airports have and which are similar to business lounges. I am not sure know if BKK has one though.

The Louis' Tavern Dayrooms in the airport is probably your best bet. You don't have to leave the airport at all. Make sure you reserve ahead.

For 6 hours stay inside the airport and don't leave the airside or don't go through immigration as Kathie have said.

The Louis lounge is OK and they do have beds. I've not used them but have taken a look.

Thanks for the advice !
Most probably we will stay airside and try a Louis' Tavern Dayroom.
We'll let you know how it was.

We are looking forward to our trip in November.
This forum is a great source of info and support.
