a little advice.

i recently booked online flight tickets with emirates.
they asked for my first and last name which i gave as
fahmy rahman.
when the eticket was emailed to me.
i was mr rahman/fahmy.

but my qualms is, the name on my passport is muhamad fahmy bin abdul rahman.
so it does not match to the eticket name which is rahman/fahmy
is this going to be a problem for me when i travel?
or am i nt even going to be allowed to travel?

i called up emirates and they put a remark of the change but they said they cannot guarrantee that customs will pass me.
what are your thoughts?
is this going to cause trouble for me?
cause im kind of worried cause i saved up for this for a very long time.

How is your name spelled on your passport? Most passport require only two names - a surname and given name so perhaps it's the same for your country? If not I would have Emirates change it to Muhamdfahmy BinAbdulRahman so at least that way you will have all your names on the eticket.

my name is spelled muhammad fahmy bin abdul rahman on my passport.
i called emirates up and they were only able to put a remark on the change. means my e tickets would still be under rahman/fahmy but only thing is that the change is noted. i havent gotten my boarding pass yet so would it still be possible to put my full name on the boarding pass when im at the airport?

Perhaps you should consider only using Fahmy Rahman like your username at Fodors. Sounds good and sort of like the name of an instant noodle as well.

Seriously, you can't be the first person in your country to have this problem so I suggest you ask you friends locally for guidance.

If your name is displayed differently

on passport and boarding pass you can have lots of problems.

See that they are exactly the same

for best boarding experience hold emirates responsible

for their mistake and make them correct it.

I think you will be fine. They do that to my name occasionally and I always get thru.

thank you for all the advices.
i just called up emirates and they did a check. they noted and made a remark on my name change. and the agents went on to ask one if his supervisors regarding this. they said it wont cause me any problems during my travel so im keeping im hoping for the best.
im a student and im treating myself to this as a graduation present so it would be a majoy bummer if i wasnt allowed to travel after planning for so long. thanks though for the advices. appreciate it
