Hi
When returning to USA from Italy via France, do we go thru passport control in CDG, or in GOA (Genoa Italy)? We only have 90 minutes for our connection in CDG so I'm worried about immigration times and lines ... Especially in CDG

You might look at forums at flyertalk.com if no one answers with certainty here. I can say that I just went thru CDG on my way INTO Europe, destination Zurich, and Paris was a ZOO! I had a 1:20 connection and had to go thru passport stamp and security check. Both lines long and slow! I did not have to change terminals, only gates.

Good luck. It may be tight.

You will go through passport control at CDG, but 90 minutes should be adequate for leaving the Schengen. simpsonc510 was entering Schengen.

On routes to America you can also expect a fairly lengthy screening and hand luggage exam to enter the departure lounge. And American-based airlines demand you be inside that lounge at least a half-hour before stated departure times. So you better hustle,and ignore those duty-free shops.

You are not passing through any immigration since you are exiting the Schengen zone at CDG, and your flight from GOA to CDG is treated like a domestic flight. I've never seen emigration lines long at any European airport but I'm not familiar with CDG.

The longest lines tend to be at security for US bound flights, where they will check for a valid passport to enter the US.

rkkwan is correct. You'll go through passport control at CDG to exit Schengen. If this is Air France to Air France, you no longer have to go through security at CDG when connecting from another Schengen country. Your Genoa flight will arrive at 2G, you'll go through passport control at 2G (lines in 2G shouldn't be too long), then board a bus to 2E. 2E has 3 sections (K, L and M gates) and the bus makes multiple stops. You should have enough time.

Thanks all. Patty, I am flying Delta on the way from Paris to Minneapolis. From GOA to CDG they use a regional parter- Hop Brit Air ... I think they are a branch of air France thanks again

It's the same route connecting to Delta.

I was worried about going through CDG on my homebound trip in November (Venice to Paris to Detroit)-- I had less than two hours. I was off the plane and in the Air France lounge in less than 30 minutes. On a Sunday. I can't say if that was typical, but it was typical for me on every leg of this last trip (flying Delta or Air France).
