Dallas-Hawaii

I don't understand how people take the American Airlines flights from Dallas-Hawaii. I live in Philly, so I'd rather 5 hours to Phoenix stop, get a breather and then 5.5 to Hawaii. When you stop in Dallas, its a 7.5 hours which feels much longer.

True, but for me US Airways is cheaper and you get there at 2:20 than 5. Even it was more expensive if you get there 3 hours earlier I'd rather do that

We're use to 9 and 10 hr flights from DFW to Frankfurt so Hawaii doesn't seem that far.

There are any number of reasons why people might take the AA flight through Dallas over US Air:
- Cheaper fare;
- More convenient flight times;
- A preference for American over US Air
- Their mileage is with American
- They don't care about the long leg (and if they're in first class on a widebody, they might prefer it).

By the way, eight hours is far from the longest flight in the world. And if you're flying American, you don't necessarily have to connect in Dallas.

Don't you either have to connect in Chicago or Dallas?

Last time I went to Hawaii, I connected in L.A. In fact, there was no non-stop on AA from Chicago (my home) at the time.
