Connecting in Madrid on Iberia Airlines

I will be traveling from Miami to Madrid on Iberia Airlines connecting on Iberia Express to Amsterdam. I arrive at 7:50am and leave at 8:50am. Will I have enough time to connect? I will be traveling on a Non EU passport.

Is this all on one ticket or two separate ones? It sounds pretty short to me, as you'll have to go through immigration and change terminals (from T4S to T4). It looks like Iberia's published minimum connection time (MCT) for non-Schengen to Schengen at MAD is 55 minutes, so technically you're okay, but I wouldn't walk too slowly.

Use the elevators/lifts down to the (T4S - T4) train level rather than the escalators, which can be very full and take forever.

When you get off your plane, there should be a person with express connection passes at the exit from the ramp.Get as many of these as are in your party, as they will provide you priority both at the passport control and security. You will need both to make your connection.

Gardyloo is, as usual, absolutely correct about using the elevators. Even if they all have just left your floor, they will return and get you to the appropriate level far faster than the escalator.

BTW, the none-EU passport que is normally uncrowded and faster than EU passport line.

Thank you Jeff801, I will definitely look out for the person with those passes. Are these for any airline? Glad to hear that the none-EU passport queue is usually uncrowded. I will also look out for the elevators you both have recommended.
I had such a bad connection through Frankfurt last year and I had more time.
