Bonus miles for online shopping

I could kick myself... just bought a sofa from Crate and Barrel online and then learned that I could have got 3000 extra frequent flyer miles had I shopped with Delta.com's online shopping site. Oh well, next time, but read this from USAToday: http://www.usatoday.com/travel/fligh...#uslPageReturn

You can get ff miles for most online purchases by using the airline's shopping links. I also use shopping links for Hilton and Holiday Inn rewards programs.

WOW! I didn't know airlines had shopping websites. Sorry about the mileage lost, but thanks for the tip!

Yes, here's Delta's shopping. Most airlines are similar.

Just be sure to check the prices of your items WITHOUT the FF miles. I have found that some merchants will charge a higher price if they have to give FF miles.

I've never seen a price difference when using the Marriott Rewards shopping portal.

I also have noticed some differences in terms of how reliably the airline or hotel chain posts points. I haven't used all of them, but I have found that Marriott has been very reliable and that United (several years ago) was much less reliable.
