Vic falls safari lodge/ Chobe Safari Lodge

chobe safari lodge is a hotel with several styles of accommodations.
i stayed in the newest (i think they are called safari rooms). they were clean and comfy like any hotel room, with large separate tubs and showers.
the hotel ranges right down to camping on the banks and caters for any budget.
the meals are all in the dining room, all buffet, though you can get light meals at the bar for midday dining.
the pool was filthy- but that was the case throughout africa. the evening boat cruises to chobe start right at the hotel, they have an efficient activity center for booking everything you could want to book.
this is a popular hotel with all sorts of travelers and the best part (especially if you've come off a safari) is speaking to people with a different approach to africa, who have taken different route/ have driven themselves. a nice cross section of people from many countries. several groups and family reunions were here when i was. not an expensive hotel at all and well located.
for me, one night was enough. if you are planning on a land visit through chobe, you would need two nights as only the early morning game drive gets you back in time for the boat cruise.
three would be too many, unless you are on an open ended journey.
victoria falls safari lodge was dead as a doornail according to people i met on safari in botswana. they felt foolish as the only people in the dining room with bthe music playing and all services up and running. it looks like a lovely hotel, though.
i would split my time 1/2 between chobe and victoria falls, although i am unsure about the activities on the zimbabawe side. on the sambia side there was exactly enough to do to fill two days and nights.

I´m surprised.
I try to put this Vic Falls package threw a operator in JNB and they told me Chobe Safari Lodge and Vic Falls Safari Lodge is full booked!!!!
So I decide to go threw Namibia, I hire a car, and visit Caprivi, Vic Falls and Chobe. But i´m quite confused about places to stay, and what to do around.
You suggest I stay in Zambia side? Where?

it depends on your budget-
if you are doing self-drive there are a lot of options in livingstone town itself.
a tour operator may in fact have their allotment of rooms fully booked, but you can use the internet to contact these properties directly.
as for lodging in livingstone, there are several for all ranges and prices. if you have a car- i would suggest one of the places geared toward that and drive yourself to the falls. ngolide lodge, maramba lodge, even thorntree lodge, the waterfront- all have a range of rooms of varying price and comfort, some of these are right on the river.
if you are a backpacker, i would go directly to fawlty towers- they are great and very friendly and helpful and smack dab in the center of town.
have you tried a google search? why not type in "livingstone accommodations" there are literally dozens of places to stay- i can't recall them all- they are also all listed on the botswana tourism web site.
lastly, you'll find this board more useful for "safari" type questions and the lonelyplanet web site more handy for do it yourself questions.

It's a good forum for getting information about independent travel, like the self-drive trip you are planning.
If you want to use the services of a travel agent, have you thought of Kristin? She answered one of your questions in an earlier discussion thread here at Fodors. She's with Oipuka in Namibia but, judging from their website, they handle Botswana as well. I don't see any mention of Victoria Falls on their website but, since Vic Falls is so close to Botswana, I would expect they receive requests from clients to make reservations at Vic Falls too.

I have surf in the internet a lot. Now i must decide where we will stay.
In Namiia side my options are Namushasha , Zambezi Lodge and King´s Den Lodge. When i crosse the border i can stay in Chobe Lodge, Chobe Marina Lodge ? and Victoria Falls Safari Lodge.
I was looking for some recents informations in this forum and also in Loney Planet forum. Nobody has visist Caprivi area?
