Travel during Ramadam

We are considering visiting Jordan during Ramadam. Does anybody have any advice on whether this is a good or bad idea and what problems we may encounter.

We haven't travelled to Jordon, but if our experience with Ramadam in Malaysia is any indication - i would say don't go then! There is no eating allowed during daylight hours and at the end of Ramadan, everyone is on the move - travelling to their home. We were flying within Malaysia during this time and the flights were VERY FULL!! If you have a choice - i would say go either before or after!!

Ramadan this year starts December 19 and ends January (1999) 18. Try to avoid it, especially the last part of it as people are becoming less and less active as it goes towards the end.

Mia

Advice: don't do it. Have lived iin Saudi and everything is topsy turvy at that time--people sleep during the day to avoid the fast, then feast and come out during the night. Also, pilgrams everywhere, trying to get to Mecca. Most difficutl
