Go on Google and type in "J2N Guesthouse Accra,Ghana". I went by this guesthouse when I was in Accra. A Ghanaian aquaintance of mine, who lives here in the States, is part owner in it and suggested for me to take a look at it. I was in Ghana in Dec 2003/Jan 2004 and Dec 2004/Jan 2005. Although I ended up staying at a hotel, due to dietary needs mostly, I did go by the guesthouse and it was very nice. The neighborhood was nice, too and in a security area. You have to pass the security booth to enter the housing area. It's a house in a tract-house style, middle-class neighborhood that's been converted to a guesthouse. I can't find the direct e-mail address right now, but it can be found on Google. Happy Travels!

Check out http://www.akotaavillas.co.uk. The owner has 4 houses for rent off Spintex Rd (Accra). We stayed in one of the villas for a week, perhaps you can negotiate a rate for longer term. Good dealings and great people from the cook to the driver. Would definitely stay there again. You did not mention where in Ghana you were looking. Try the Silicon Hotel in Kumasi - awesome people and so clean and modern - even free internet access 24/7 they may be able to give you a good rate on a suite.
