When I was in England the newspapers had front page photos of Lions taking down an Elephant, saying the BBC team were the first people to capture it on film! They were right about the Snow Leopard, but not this.
Also India!!!!! What happened?

Cricket atleast on the sub-continent has become a joke. I was an avid follower but not anymore. Call be cynical but I refuse to believe that there isnt an element of match fixing in any match played by India and Pakistan.
Any when people die, the game deserves to be boycotted.

I agree, Amol........there is no way the WC could have been allowed to continue when they discovered what happened!!!
It's probably not limited to India and Pakistan.....remember it takes two teams to fix a match.....probably all teams involved. Remember year 2000? It's just awful that the situation has continued un-checked and we the people have been fooled to believe what we hv been watching.....
Btw, i dont believe the entire match can be fixed.....it is going to take almost the majority of the team to throw a match away!!!

Hari,
I certainly hope that the entire team isnt on the take, but I wouldn't put it past as many as 4-5 players being on the take. Remember 2000 again - there were 3-4 major players (and these were only the ones that got caught out) involved with the bookies in one form or another.
The problem with the teams in the sub-continent (its definitely pertinent to the Indian team) is that the endorsement earnings are immense and I wonder what that does to the appetite to succeed. Its probably an issue atleast as serious as match fixing.
As for me - I wouldnt be watching another cricket match again.
