Greetings from Cape Town!!!

I get it!!! Now I understand why all of you love it! What an amazing city!!!! We have only been in Cape Town for one day and I am in love with it. I could leave now and all the flying and money would have been worth it. Thankfully, we still have a week left! If Cape Town is this great, I can't imagine how wonderful the safari is going to be.

Today we checked out Table Mountain, The Kirshenboush Gardens, District Six Museum, Shopped in the City, the Waterfront, had high tea at Mount Nelson, and ate at Baia. Our guide is AMAZING. We did all of those things and it never felt like we were rushing around.

Thanks for all of your help. I really wanted to post a preliminary message to everyone from the boards.

Try and eat at La Colombe in Constantia if you can. Very good

And Aubergine in the Gardens - city bowl.

They're both number 1 on my list!

You're right, Cape Town is amazing. And just think, many (including me) find the safari even more amazing.

Have a great time, and please post a report on your safari after you return.

Are you planning a visit to Robben Island? Even if you don't have much time, its worth at least a morning visit (for the history and the views of Table Mountain and the city from the water).

Andrea,

Great to see you are enjoying Cape Town. The weather must be beautiful, huh?

At which hotel are you staying?

Dr Andrea
Thit_cho summed up my feelings exactly - you're so right that Cape Town is amazing and it's so great to hear how much you're loving it - and you still have more CT PLUS safari to come!
Lucky you!
Hope the rest of your trip is as wonderful as the first day in CT and can't wait to hear all about it when you get back - report, photos - we want the lot!
