Cape Town and Kruger
We are traveling to South Africa with our 10 year old daughter in late August. Our plan is to spend 3 or 4 nights in Cape Town and 4 nights in the Kruger area. Should we divide our time in Kruger between 2 different areas? We are currently thinking of staying 2 nights at Mala-Mala in Sabi Sands and then 2 nights at Singita Sweni or Lebombo. Does this plan make sense? We would welcome any advice or feedback about the different properties. Thanks.

Hello,
With only four days on safari, I'd recommend sticking with one reserve. You will enjoy your trip more since you will be able to relax rather than packing and unpacking every couple of days, and your ranger will have a chance to get to know you which will definitely improve your experience.
The Sabi Sands, where Mala Mala is located, has the best game-viewing in South Afirca. The Lebombo concession is a bit wilder and more remote.
If you wanted the Singita experience but wanted to stay in the Sabi Sands, you could certainly stay at Singita Ebony or Singita Boulders.
Cheers,
Julian

Hi
My wife and I went on a safari near the Kruger park a couple of years back. We went to a place called Djuma Vuyatela and it was an amazing experience. I have posted a trip report with pictures on my homepage http://gardkarlsen.com/djuma_vuyatela_safari.htm and I hope that it can give you an impression of what to expect. Have a great trip to South Africa. Cape Town is a beautiful city indeed. Get in touch if you have any questions or comments.
