Botswana 2008
I was slightly reluctant to post my photos, as I did not want to see another Kwando vs Wilderness bashing session.
I stayed with both companies and am a return guest to both. So that I feel speaks for itself.
Due to a relocation, I will not able to edit the remainder of the Chitabe/Savuti photos for at least another month or so.
Anyway, here was my itinerary:
Kwara; 9 nights
Little Kwara; 2 nights
Savuti; 4 nights
Chitabe; 2 nights
I am not going to give a detailed trip report, but send you in the direction of my photos.

Thanks to all,
MV, the Kingfisher was from Kwara. The shot I nearly lost a 500 F4 for...Though thats another story.
Alejandra, Hwange is a special place, hopefully people will flock back once the political situation has resolved itself.
Hari, you have three months, I have to wait till at least the end of the year.
Bob, after a suggestion from Afrigalah, the giraffes are going onto canvas.

Russell,
I've been through all your galleries and I must say you've done a pretty good job.
I love the lion portrait (2021)in Kwando and the elephants (1413 & 2126) in Hwange, but my favourite is the lagoon pack on the move, which is for me a masterpiece.

Mike/Walrus, Doni, Aowens and Dana, thanks for the comments.....
MV,
I was on the way to heronry, on the single level boat. Hobbs and I were looking mainly for Kingfishers on the small channel en route.
I was using my tripod in the boat, but at one point, did not clip the mount on properly. As the boat swayed slightly, to my horror, I saw my equipment tumbling...........
I instinctively grabbed what i could, which happened to be the camera body! I was lucky that i had tele-converter on at the time. The lens ripped from the body, splitting the converter in two. It then hit the side of the boat and luckily stayed in.
My camera on the other hand, was left dangling just above the waters edge with me holding on to its strap.
Fortunately, I was able to remove the remains of the converter from both body and lens and carry on shooting........Lesson learnt!
The more I think about it, the less plausible it would have sounded to the insurance company!
