Balloon worth it?

we're headed for Kenya in March with a tour company with most questions answered...but how about the Masai Mara sunrise balloon rides? Is it worth the extra $3-400? Thanks

Ballooning is always worth it!! Nothing beats the thrill of riding silently over the ground - 1000-1500 Ft. above the ground and just drifting with the wind. You do not get that feel from a plane, helicopter or any other mode of transport. It is as if you are floating
under your own power.

By all means DO IT. You do not go ballooning every day do you??? And there are few places on earth better suited for it than the African Plains!!

There's an old saying: "the quality of an article is remembered long after price is forgotten." Truer words were never spoken when applied to a balloon ride at sun-up over the Masai Mara. My wife and I did it two years ago...and it was the top event of a month-long safari trip through Kenya and Tanzania. Don't ask the price: JUST DO IT!

I must agree with Paula and Al. The sunrise balloon trip over the Mara was wonderful. Well worth the extra bucks we spent. In addition we took the video camera and obtained some wonderful herd shots not possible on the ground.
Have a great trip..I'm jealous.

I have to agree - we just returned from three weeks in October and the balloon ride over the Maasa was something I will never forget - and I didn't even want to go and almost backed out the morning of ! Yes, it is pricey - but you can't repeat the experience any where else on earth. The view and the stillness are awe inspiring.
