Fodor's Expert Review Sheraton Lima Hotel

Paseo de la República 170, Lima, Lima, 01, Peru

This massive hotel is removed from the city's best dining and nightlife options but close to the historic district and a short drive from the airport, San Isidro, Miraflores, or Barranco. Perfectly serviceable rooms have subdued colors, nice bathrooms, and giant windows with urban views. Two buffet restaurants are in the lobby: the Brazilian-style La Cupula serves grilled meats at your table, whereas the less expensive Las Palmeras has a folklore show on Friday night. Popular with business travelers and tour groups alike, the hotel has a convention center, a small gym, and a pool that's open from December to May.

PROS

  • plenty of amenities
  • close to many attractions and airport
  • on-site Brazilian buffet restaurants

CONS

  • massive
  • far from most restaurants
  • lacks personality
