The hotel selection in downtown El Bolsón is woefully inadequate. Numerous guesthouses take small groups, but the Hotel Amancay is the only full-service hotel worth "recommending." You’ll find more choices in Villa Turismo, a hillside community of cabins, bed-and-breakfasts, and small inns located about 2 km (1½ miles) south of town, off Avenida Belgrano. Lodges in the surrounding mountains open for fishing season in summer (November–April) and close in winter (May–October).
Wood-paneled décor and views of Cerro Piltriquitrón make this commodious modern inn a standout. The on-site gym, expansive rooms and suites, and hyper-competent staff combine to make this the premier lodging if you're looking to stay in El Bolsón proper. An added plus is the hotel's restaurant, which can hold its own against the best eateries in the region.
